GENKEN OF THE STORM
Vol. 1

Written in 12 pt. Sands of Fire Font

The bus rattled and shook as Genken found his seat. He tried to avoid the eyes of the Pilipino villagers. Their accusing stare only made him feel alienated. It was’nt enough he had to come to this uncivilized nation, but also the villagers had to stare at him just because he was white. It was’nt enough he had moved three times in the past 6 years, and that he had lost everything. But now, he had to sit in the back of a sticky, dusty, old bus with a bunch of villagers staring at him. He rested his head on the window. A small chil otside was playing with a hose, and some of the water sprayed onto the window. Genken’s hair was messy from the burlap cot he had slept on the night before. He turned the water into frost, then melted it onto his hair, then he heated the air and dried his hair. So much a little alchemy can do.1.

1. Alchemy is the art of changing one element or power, and turning it into another. The law of alchemy is equivilant exchange. To gain, you must lose. That isn’t always true. Genken had learned that long ago.
